Vikx eats Sweden!

Sorry for the lack of updates! We got home fine!

Whilst I was in Sweden I knew I had to find some of the local sweets to try and blog about.

To start off with I have a small sample of some little bits and bobs. Lets begin!

All of the smaller sweets we got from a sweet shop which sold all different types of miniature sweets, which was perfect. I didn't see the point in getting all large sweets just incase I hated them.

Ok first of all we have the Not- Creme in the bottom right hand corner, apparently this started off as a cake topping, but was so popular with the kids, they turned it into a sweet.

The slogan on the front reads - Good thing with a taste for more

When I opened the packet all I could smell was hazelnut, well I think was hazelnut! It reminded me of nutella, but paler in colour. It has a smooth texture but every now and then you can pick up a little bit of nut, it is super sweet too, its a bit like a doughnut topping. Its nice but I really don't think I could eat much of it. I know why they put it in little packets now!

Next up we have Dumle original (now this is actually Finnish not Swedish - I never knew this until now)- this used to be a lollipop which they sold at Ikea, but they stopped making them, they are now just small sweets. I have no idea what falvour this is supposed to be!

The sweet is chocolate covered, the chocolate is smooth and rather quite nice! The filling is a very soft caramel but with a hint of liquorice I think. They are very nice. Would definitely buy again!

Next up is the Rollo did not see this any where to buy in big packs, only in the sweet shop with the selections. Upon opening the packet it looks like a caramel chew. It smells sweet and smooth.

Ok I will admit that I ate the rest of it before I could get a photo of the cut section! It was fantastic! A soft smooth creamy caramel. Oh it was so good!

Next up we have a Toms - I think this might be honey flavoured as its got what looks to be a honeycomb pattern on the packet, there is only way to find out! nom nom nom

Before I unwrapped this candy, I noticed on the bottom a sticker which says skildpadde - google translate tells me that this is infact Danish not Swedish and it means Turtle. Makes sense now, its not a honeycomb pattern is a turtle shell!! (Also bit let down that this is not Swedish, the woman in the shop was telling me how fantastic Swedish sweets are and most of these aren't Swedish!)

Ok so after unwrapping the sweet, I can see that yes it does indeed look like a turtle, its got little feet and a head! It smells rich, and is covered in a dark chocolate.

I hope you can see the tiny features of the turtle in the photo.

The filling is a bit odd, again it has a caramel center but there is a white filling on top of that very runny, I think its brandy or something. Certainly booze flavoured.
Its overly sweet and rich again. Not something you could eat a lot of. In fact I am still in to minds if I like this or not.

Ok I might be starting to regret doing this blog with so many little sweets, thats what I get really for not realising they are mostly caramel filled!

Onwards and upwards - next up we have .....

Banana Skids - Not the most appealing name in the world, but I get it you can slip on a banana skin.

To me this appears to be a chew type bar, a bit like the Whams and things we get over here. Opening the packet you have the first initial wrapper and then a wax paper. I guess to top it sticking.

It smells like artificial banana, which is to be expected. Tastes a bit like a banana milkshake, can't quite put my finger on what the brown side is supposed to be. The chew is soft and easy to eat. Its OK, wouldn't want to eat it again though.

Next up with have another Toms product - Punch Pokal - No translation for this one unfortunately.

I am guessing this will be along the same lines as the last Toms candy, liquid center with dark chocolate.

I was right, this one is dark chocolate but with a white liquid center. No idea what the falvour is, I think it is supposed to be alcoholic coffee. Either way its gross! I nearly spat this one out it was that bad.

Wow this is an epic sweet marathon right here. Phew nearly there! I might leave the larger of the sweets IE Kex and Plopp for another day!

Up next we have Momenti blue and orange. These to me seem quite posh, their wrappers are rather pretty.
Upon opening these sweets, it looks like the orange one may have gone off as it was a different colour. As you can see from the photo.

Orange is on the left and blue is on the right

Lets start with the blue sweet - almost feel like the matrix here red pill or blue pill - I'll go for blue this time please.

Oh yummy this is nice, its like a white chocolate filling with rice crispies in it! Very nice, but again very rich. Im not sure why all these sweets are so rich.

The orange one is sadly not orange flavour but it is along the same concept, this time it is chocolate filled with rice crispies in it. The taste is some what ruined by the chocolate being off though. Which is a shame. Out of the two I have to say the white chocolate is the best.

Overly I have to say I am a little disappointed in the chocolates, all to rich and a bit to sweet for me. I am hoping the others I have to try will be better. I have quite a few left to to including their liquorice and things.

Well hope you have enjoyed this! I now feel a bit sick, i'm off to lay down and have a drink!
